Jim Gilchrist’s Essay on Illegal Immigration

Published by Georgetown University Law School Journal

"The Minuteman Reconsidered"
It’s easy to call Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist of Aliso Viejo a froth-mouthed racist agitator, especially if you ignore a few inconvenient truths.

Why Jim Gilchrist Does What He Does

O.C. witness speaks about killing of border agent

Britt Craig, a 60-year-old retiree and former military man from Mission Viejo, has volunteered with the Minuteman Project 96 hours a week since 2005. His regular lookout spot is along the Campo stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border. Craig was the witness who reported hearing several shots being fired on July 23rd along the Campo-stretch of border fence. The pops he heard was a suspected border crosser gunning-down and killing Agent Robert Rosas, a U.S. Border Patrol agent. Here, Craig shows one of many holes in the Campo border fence where illegal immigrants and drug smugglers go back and forth.
